Algebra is the underpinning for most higher level STEM courses. Calculus and other math courses require proficiency with algebraic concepts and solving equations. Algebra II adds on to previous algebra courses and introduces such key concepts as complex numbers, more ways to work with exponents and radicals, finding zeros of more complicated functions, and being able to model data.
